As a new supervisor or manager, you will certainly have projects and ideas you will want to implement. But you have to remember that while getting a promotion may give you the positional authority to move your agenda forward, positional authority alone is not enough.
To get your team onboard, you need to demonstrate that you’re credible. Your people need to believe that you understand the problem or situation inside and out and that you’re sensitive to internal concerns and pressures. You also need to show that you have the capacity and willingness to go the distance.
