Principle

“I vote in the affirmative, mister President.”

We live in an age of quarter second news cycles. Viral videos drench the internet but evaporate as quickly as they flow. All that remains is a desert of yesterday’s internet stars: an aberrant hodgepodge of auto-tuned chinchillas, sneezing Siamese twins, and aspiring geriatric R & B stars.

So it’s little surprise that, on occasion, a bona fide leader falls through a cavernous online chasm. New York State Senator Mark Grisanti (R-Buffalo) is one such leader. His speech on the same sex marriage bill is required viewing.

A key leadership concept to keep in mind: sometimes principles dwarf everything.
